Loyola University Health System, others accused of not properly waking man following surgery

CHICAGO — A man is suing Loyola University Health System, Gottlieb Memorial Hospital, Dr. Amir Darki, Pulmonary Medicine Associates S.C., Dr. Omar Hussain, Dr. Joshua Dworetzky, Encompass Physicians LLC, Dr. Peter Joo, Midwest Anesthesiologists Ltd., Dr. Robert Molnar and several nurses for alleged negligence.

Patrick Scoleri filed a complaint on Oct. 3 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants failed to reverse the sedation they had administered to him before undergoing a cardiac catheterization. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to timely ventilate and intubate him before and after the procedure.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. He is represented by Susan A. Capra of Clifford Law Offices P.C. in Chicago.
