CHICAGO — A woman is suing Biological Resource Center of Illinois LLC for alleged intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence and negligent misrepresentation, accusing them of selling her relative's body for profit.
Ann Marie Van Damme, individually and as next of kin of David Scott Van Damme, filed a complaint on Sept. 27 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendant allowed the remains of David Scott Van Damme to be sold for profit.
Van Damme said the defendant allegedly making false representations and promises to her regarding how they intended to use the remains of David Scott Vann Damme.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant for actual, compensatory, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Katherine A. Cardenas and Khalid Hasan of Lucas and Cardenas P.C. in Chicago.
