Bella Vie Medical Spa accused of burning woman while performing laser hair removal procedure

Medical malpractice 05

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Bella Vie Medical Spa S.C. for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Felicia Aguinaga filed a complaint on Oct. 11 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging she was exposed to high temperatures while undergoing hair removal on Oct. 16, 2015, which allegedly caused second-degree burns and subsequent scarring on her abdomen. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly exposing her to a laser for a period of time. She claims that the laser was hotter than what was reasonable and necessary.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court plus court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Patrick C. Anderson of Healy Scanlon in Chicago.
