The Millard Group accused of collecting biometric information without consent

CHICAGO — An employee has filed a class-action lawsuit against The Millard Group LLC of Illinois for alleged invasion of privacy and violation of state law.

Anna Grabowska filed a complaint on Oct. 12 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendant collected her fingerprints without first obtaining a signed release from her, in violation of the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act.

The plaintiff accuses the defendant of allegedly failing to provide her and other employees with a written policy regarding the need to collect and store their biometric information.

The plaintiff seeks provide commensurate temporary, preliminary and permanent injunctive relief, all damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Kasif Khowaja in Chicago.
