Man shot by Chicago police accuses officer of battery

CHICAGO — A man is suing the city of Chicago and a Chicago police officer for alleged battery.

Dejuan Harris filed a complaint on Oct. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the officer shot him without justification on Oct. 23, 2016. 

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Basileios J. Foutris of Foutris Law Office Ltd. in Chicago.
