CHICAGO — A man is suing Donald J. Hackl, demanding the president of Chicago architectural firm Loebl Schlossman & Hackl pay at least $2 million for allegedly defaming him and refusing to pay him his earnings.

Architect Amir Al Abosy filed a complaint on Dec. 7 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendant made false statements about him in order to intentionally defame him, damaging his reputation. Specifically, Al Abosy accuses Hackl of telling others that Al Abosy stole money from the Loebl firm, for which Al Abosy had worked "without interruption" from 1999-2016.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages in the amount $500,000, punitive damages of $1.5 million, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Thomas D. Rosenwein of Rosenwein Law Group in Chicago.
