Sunrise of Schaumburg, others allegedly failed to prevent patient from falling

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Sunrise of Schaumburg, Hearthstone Manor, related entities and three individuals for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent a man's injuries and wrongful death.

Cindy Gronke, independent administrator of the estate of Sam Romani, filed a complaint on Dec. 1 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Romani suffered a fall that allegedly caused three fractured ribs and a fractured hip, allegedly contributing to his death. 

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Kelly Sabo Gaden of The Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
