Alexian Brothers Health System, others allegedly failed to treat man's renal disease

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Alexian Brothers Health System, Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Cardiovascular Associates at Alexian Brothers and Dr. Sarah Ann Sullivan-Johnson for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries and wrongful death.

Georgia Tsangos, special administrator of the estate of Hristos Tsangos, filed a complaint on Dec. 1 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants failed to treat Hristos Tsangos for infra-renal disease, which allegedly resulted in his death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly not treating Hristos Tsangos' infra-renal disease with open surgery and for allegedly failing to refer him to a surgeon.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Joseph W. Balesteri of Power Rogers & Smith LLP in Chicago.
