CHICAGO —  A man and woman are suing MacNeal Hospital and three doctors for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Diana Zavaleta and Philip Willoughby filed a complaint on Dec. 4 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants administered several drugs to Zavaleta that caused harm to her unborn child. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to inform Zavaleta that she was pregnant before allegedly giving her medication and informing her it could cause side effects in her unborn child.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek actual damages that exceed $100,000.
