CHICAGO — A woman is suing LaSalle Hotel Properties; Hei Hospitality LLC; Bulley & Andrews LLC; Stantec Inc., as successor in interest to Voa Associates Incorporated; and Ajax Consulting Services LLC for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Kayla Aalbers filed a complaint on Dec. 8 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging she sustained physical injuries when she fell while walking across the lobby of Hotel Chicago Downtown, which allegedly required her to undergo multiple surgical procedures. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to properly design, construct and remodel the hotel so that the plaintiff would not trip and fall.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Timothy L. Krippner and Keith P. Rahman of Segal McCambridge Singer & Mahoney Ltd. in Chicago.
