DaVita Healthcare Partners Inc., others allegedly failed to prevent man from falling

CHICAGO — A man is suing DaVita Healthcare Partners Inc., DaVita Inc., Little Village Dialysis and 1st Response EMS Inc. for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Leon Ortiz filed a complaint on Dec. 14 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging he fell with great force on April 18, 2016, due to a slippery floor, which allegedly caused severe injuries to his left leg and ankle. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to warn him about the slippery surface on their premises or provide a handrail to prevent him from slipping.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. He is represented by John C. Wunsch P.C. in Chicago.
