CHICAGO — A company is suing Linik Corporation and law firm, Julia Davis Law Firm LLC.

Krishna Energy LLC filed a complaint on Dec. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Linik failed to provide a stop order involving the purchase of a gas station it owned.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges it paid Linik with the promise Linik would obtain a stop order from the Illinois Department of Revenue so sales tax would not be included in the sale price. The plaintiff holds defendant Linik responsible for, among other things, allegedly failing to provide the stop order, misrepresenting the profitability of the gas station and for allegedly refusing to return the money the plaintiff paid.

According to the complaint, Krishna asserts it tendered $55,000 on a scheduled closing date. The plaintiff asserts it is owed a refund of that amount, as it alleges Linik breached the contract under which the payment was tendered. Krishna has named the law firm as a defendant in the case because, the complaint alleges, the law firm accepted the $55,000 tender, allegedly at the urging of defendant Linik, but has not refunded the money as demanded by Krishna.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $100,000 plus court costs, interest and any further relief this court grants. The plaintiff is represented by Zubair A. Khan of Trivedi & Khan P.C. in Chicago.
