Northshore University Health System, others allegedly failed to properly maintain handicapped door

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Northshore University Health System, Colliers International and Colliers International Asset and Property Management Services LLC for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Lois G. Tiemann filed a complaint on Dec. 11 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging she sustained physical injuries on Dec. 17, 2015, when the handicapped door she was using to enter the premises allegedly failed and closed, pushing her to the ground. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to properly maintain the handicapped door on their property or provide adequate warning regarding its defective nature.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Jason H. Sherwood of Sherwood Law Group LLC in Chicago.
