CHICAGO — A woman is suing Kone Inc. for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent her husband's injuries on the job.

Claudetta Turner, guardian of the estate and person of Antonio Turner, filed a complaint on Dec. 26 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant failed to properly maintain an elevator at ADM Milling Co. in Chicago.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Antonio Turner sustained serious and permanent physical injuries when the elevator in which he was riding allegedly came to an abrupt stop, and he plummeted three floors down the elevator shaft to the ground. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to make repairs to the elevator.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Nancy Richter of Slavin & Slavin LLC in Chicago.
