Woman sues doctor, alleging release of sensitive health information

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Dr. Amjad Ahmad for alleged breach of duty, intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress and invasion of privacy.

Jane Doe filed a complaint on Dec. 29 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendant disclosed her private health care information without consent.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she suffered emotional damages because her sensitive health information, including her identity, allegedly was disseminated to the public.

The plaintiff seeks compensatory damages greater than $100,000, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by George Jackson III of Wacker Law Partners LLC in Chicago and Luke Townsend of LaSalle Law Group in Chicago.
