CHICAGO — A woman has filed a class action lawsuit against eRelevance Corporation Inc. for allegedly violating telephone harassment statutes.

Olwen Jaffe filed a complaint on Jan. 8 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendant sent her several automated text messages without her consent.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she received automated text messages on her mobile phone in October via the TalkWithMe mobile application. She alleges she continued to receive text messages after she unsubscribed from the service. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly continuing to send text messages to her even after she allegedly had unsubscribed from the service.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual and statutory damages, an injunction against the defendant, court costs and any further relief this court grants. Jaffe is represented by the firm of McGuire Law P.C., of Chicago.
