Holy Cross Hospital, others allegedly caused perforation of patient’s bile duct

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Dr. Alemayeku Bekele, Holy Cross Hospital, Sinai Health Systems, Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Center and another individual for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Marlene Macon filed a complaint on Jan. 3 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging she sustained serious physical injuries in September 2014, including a bile leak. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly causing a perforation in her bile duct as a result of a cholecystectomy the defendants allegedly performed on her.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by the Law Offices of Scott B. Wolfman & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
