Hala Express, driver allegedly failed to take safety measures to avoid semi-truck accident

Semi crash 02

CHICAGO — Two individuals are suing Ibrahim A. Atieh and Hala Express Inc. for alleged negligence.

Rachyl Garcia and Viola Garcia filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in the Cook County Circuit Court, alleging that Atieh failed to properly control his semi-truck, causing it to collide with the plaintiffs' car.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they sustained serious physical injuries and damages to their property on Sept. 7, 2017 when their vehicle collided with a semi-truck. The plaintiffs hold Atieh responsible for allegedly failing to keep a proper look out while operating his vehicle. Additionally, the plaintiffs claim that Hala Express Inc. is vicariously responsible because Atieh was acting on its behalf at the time of the accident.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds $50,000 plus court costs. They are represented by Shea Law Group in Chicago.
