BNSF Railway allegedly failed to protect employee from toxic agents

CHICAGO — An employee is suing BNSF Railway for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Jerome Dickson filed a complaint on Jan. 17 in the Cook County Circuit Court, alleging that the defendant failed to provide him with a reasonably safe work environment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he experienced pain due to prostate cancer that allegedly was caused by being exposed to toxic agents. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to provide adequate safety gear in order to make sure that he was safe from toxic agents that could cause injuries.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant for compensatory damages, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Wilson D. Sikes and Paul J. Napoli of Napoli Shkolnik PLLC in Edwardsville, Ill.
