Presence Life Connections, others allegedly failed to prevent patient from falling

CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing Arthur Merkle-Clara Knipprath Nursing Home for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries. 

Sue Schafroth, independent administrator of the estate of Lucy Beever, filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in the Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Beever suffered a fall that allegedly caused a right femoral fracture. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to adequately supervise Beever to prevent her from falling.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Michael F. Bonamarte and Michael L. Shanahan of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
