Emigrant Bank Fine Art Finance LLC, others accused of fraud

By Louie Torres | Feb 7, 2018

CHICAGO — A company and an individual are suing Emigranta Corp. and Emigrant Bank Fine Art Finance LLC for allegedly attempting to enforce a forged promissory note.

River North Collections LLC and Roger L. Weston filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants issued notices for defaults to enforce a $5 million promissory note that allegedly was forged.

The plaintiffs seek for the court to enjoin the defendants, declare that the purported loan documents are void, court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Stephen Novack, Stephen J. Siegel and Courtney D. Tedrowe of Novack and Macey LLP in Chicago.
