CHICAGO — A man is suing MacNeal Hospital, Dr. Wayne Yang, Dr. Ed Chen, Dr. Robin Favor and MacNeal Hospital and Suburban Surgical Associates for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.
Juan Chavez filed a complaint on Jan. 30 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging he suffered a ruptured right iliac artery on Dec. 27, 2016, while the defendants performed surgery on him. He alleges they failed to transfer him to an a appropriate tertiary care facility.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court. He is represented by W. Jason Gatzulis of Parente & Norem PC in Chicago.
