CHICAGO — A school is suing Cook County officials for allegedly attempting to collect back taxes on tax-exempt properties.

Northwestern Business College Inc. filed a complaint on Feb. 2 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants billed it for back taxes on its tax-exempt properties.

The plaintiff seeks to block the defendants from imposing omitted assessments upon any of its properties, enjoin the defendants from extending and collecting void back taxes, plus court costs and any further relief this court grants. The plaintiff is represented by Mark R. Davis and John P. Nyhan of O'Keefe Lyons & Hynes LLC in Chicago.
