Symphony of Crestwood allegedly failed to prevent patient's hip infection

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Symphony of Crestwood for wrongful death and allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Toni Slaughter, independent administrator of the estate of Grace Jackson, filed a complaint on Jan. 30 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Jackson suffered an infection in a surgical site on her left hip, which allegedly caused the deterioration of her overall health. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly faliing to adequately supervise Jackson to prevent her wound from becoming infected.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Tiffany E. Alberty and Kristen N. Koeller of the Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates P.C. in Chicago.
