Prestige Restaurant Inc., others accuse woman of writing unauthorized checks to pay creditors

CHICAGO — Several companies are suing Renee M. Johnson for alleged breach of contract and violation of federal law.

Prestige Restaurant Inc., Terroir Restaurant Inc. and associated entities filed a complaint on Jan. 29 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendant unlawfully used their resources for her financial gain.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege they lost thousands of dollars, accusing  the defendant of allegedly writing unauthorized checks to her personal creditors and intentionally concealing her activities as legitimate business expenses.

The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendant in the amount of at least $221,241.50, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Miles V. Cohen and Paige J. Esterkin of Scott & Kraus LLC in Chicago.
