CHICAGO — A woman is suing Johnson & Johnson, Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies Inc. and Walgreen Co. for alleged product liability and negligence.

Diane Thompson filed a complaint on Feb. 8 in the Cook County Circuit Court, alleging she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, which allegedly was found to be caused by prolonged exposure to talcum powder. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to warn her about the potential risk of contracting ovarian cancer due to prolonged exposure to their baby powder products.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages greater than $50,000, economic damages in the form of medical expenses, punitive and exemplary damages, interest, court costs and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by Robert A. Clifford and Shannon M. McNulty of Clifford Law Offices P.C. in Chicago.
