7447 South Shore LLC accused of violating Chicago landlord ordinance

CHICAGO — A man has filed a class action lawsuit against 7447 South Shore LLC for allegedly violating Chicago's Residential Landlord and Tenant Ordinance (RLTO).

Jimmie Covington filed a complaint on Jan. 30 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendant failed to provide him with a copy of the current RLTO summaries and pay interest on his security deposit, which was allegedly held for six months, in violation of the ordinance.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant, court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Jeffrey Sobek of JS Law in Chicago.
