CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing Johnson & Johnson and Walgreen Co. for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.
Scott Cohn, independent administrator on behalf of the estate of Lillian Cohn-Sharon, filed a complaint on Feb. 14 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants' baby powder contained talcum powder, which was allegedly found to cause cancer.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Cohn-Sharon was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, which allegedly was found to be caused by being exposed to talcum powder. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to warn Cohn-Sharon about the risk of regular and prolonged exposure to talcum powder.
