CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing Johnson & Johnson and Walgreen Co. for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.
Tim Coates, independent administrator on behalf of the estate of Bridget Coates, filed a complaint on Feb. 14 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants' baby powder contained talcum powder, which was allegedly found to cause cancer.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Bridget Coates was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, which was allegedly caused by exposure to talcum powder. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to warn about the possibility of getting cancer due to exposure to talcum powder.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus punitive damages and other relief. He is represented by Robert Clifford and Shannon McNulty, of Clifford Law, of Chicago.
