Woman sues Advocate Christ Medical Center over splinter from 'defective' wooden shelves

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Advocate Christ Medical Center for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Nasesha Moore Tyler filed a complaint on Feb. 22 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging she sustained physical injuries on Feb. 25, 2016, when allegedly defective shelves left a splinter in her hand. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to warn her about the shelves.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Michael Malatesta of Malatesta Law Offices LLC in Chicago.
