Levin Associates accuses former employee of forging checks

CHICAGO — A business is suing Kristiana M. Ostojic and Steven Ostojic for alleged breach of duty and fraud.

Designer Direct Inc., which does business as Levin Associates, filed a complaint on Feb. 27 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Kristiana Ostojic, an employee at Designer Direct, forged 39 checks for her own benefit, totaling more than $185,000, from October 2016 to May 2017.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges Kristiana Ostojic responsible for allegedly making several checks payable to a company called KO Development, which she allegedly owned. Steven Ostojic is accused of allegedly aiding and abetting her.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory damages, interest, punitive damages, profits, benefits, court costs and any further relief this court grants. The plaintiff is represented by Alon Stein of Stein Law Offices in Des Plaines.
