Advocate Health, others allegedly failed to properly perform medical procedure

CHICAGO —  A couple is suing Advocate Health and Hospitals Corporation, Women's Healthcare of Illinois Ltd. and Dr. Vanessa Foster for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Sandra Harmening and Jonathon Harmening filed a complaint on Feb. 28 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Sandra Harmening experienced pain as a result of a tubal ligation that they claim was improperly performed on her. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to properly perform the tubal ligation on Harmening, which allegedly caused her to sustain physical injuries.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. They are represented by Thomas H. Murphy of Cogan & Power P.C. in Chicago.
