CHICAGO — A woman is suing ManorCare Health Services-Elk Grove Village, HCR ManorCare Health Services LLC, Heartland Employment Services LLC, and two nurses for wrongful death and allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.
Victoria Slonina, independent administrator of the estate of Antoni Slonina, filed a complaint on Feb. 26 in the Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Antoni Slonina sustained serious injuries, including severe encephalopathy, acute respiratory, aspiration pneumonia and other medical problems while in the defendants' care. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to provide adequate medical staff to monitor and assist Slonina to provide him with immediate medical treatment.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Michael F. Bonamarte and Michelle E. Thompson of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
