CHICAGO — Rap artist King Louie is suing recording label Lawless Inc. for alleged breach of contract.

The artist, whose given name is Louis Johnson, filed a complaint on March 2 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Lawless refused to provide him with access to its books and records, and specifically, royalty payment records for his music.

Johnson holds the defendant responsible for allegedly breaching its contract with him by allegedly failing to provide a management report to him that outlined all accounting principles that both parties allegedly agreed to.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by attorney Aaron Spivack in Chicago.
