Northwestern Memorial Hospital, others allegedly failed to prevent patient from developing pressure ulcers

CHICAGO — A woman is suing NorthShore University HealthSystem, ManorCare of Northbrook IL LLC, Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and Northwestern Memorial Hospital for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries.

Gail Schubert, administrator for the estate of Edward Davis, filed a complaint on March 13 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Davis developed pressure ulcers that allegedly led to the deterioration of his overall health while in the defendants' care.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Matthew P. Biesterfeld of Law Offices of Robert N. Goshgarian in Waukegan.
