CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing Boeing over a man's death in a 2016 aircraft crash in Russia.

Oxana Korobka, special administrator of the estate of Oleg Chistyakov, filed a complaint on March 13 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Chistyakov died on March 19, 2016 when the aircraft he was on crashed near Rostov-on-Don Airport in Russia. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to properly manufacture and design the aircraft's elevator system, including its power control units, to ensure the aircraft wouldn't experience any failures and could safely land.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court, court costs, other damages and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Andrew T. Hays and Sarah E. Buck of Hays Firm LLC in Chicago and Steven C. Marks and Dayron Silverio of Podhurst Orseck P.A. in Miami, Fla.
