CHICAGO — A woman is suing Commonwealth Edison Company and Raul Osornio for wrongful death and allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent her relative's injuries.

Yulia Fulgencio, independent administrator of the estate of Jose Evelio Fulgencio-Hueramo, filed a complaint on March 22 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Fulgencio-Hueramo was electrocuted on March 28, 2017, while trimming tree branches in the proximity of electrical poles. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to properly maintain and insulate the high voltage power lines in the area, which allegedly caused them to shock Fulgencio-Hueramo.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000. She is represented by Joseph P. Sorce of Goldberg, Weisman & Cairo Ltd in Chicago.
