CHICAGO — A Cook County Sheriff's deputy is suing Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart and others associated with the county sheriff's office for alleged violations of due process rights, racial discrimination and retaliation.

Printiss Jones filed a complaint on March 19 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants terminated his employment after several years of service without valid cause.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges he was removed from his position as lieutenant at the Cook Count Sheriff's Office without a proper hearing before a legally constituted Merit Commission. He also accused the defendants of allegedly harassing him and discriminating against him.
