CHICAGO — A mother is suing GIL Sober Living LLC for allegedly taking insufficient measures to prevent injuries, leading to her daughter's heroin overdose death.

Cynthia Ershen, independent administrator of her daughter's estate, filed a complaint on March 28 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging her daughter was "dismissed and evicted from housing" provided by the defendant, sending her into a crisis which allegedly ended with her daughter's fatal overdose of heroin. The plaintiff alleges the defendants should have informed her before terminating her daughter's living arrangements.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount that exceeds the jurisdictional limits of this court. She is represented by Nolan Law Group in Chicago.
