CHICAGO — Three employees have filed a class action lawsuit against Schulte Hospitality Group Inc. and SpringHill Suites by Marriott Chicago Southwest at Burr Ridge/Hinsdale for alleged invasion of privacy and violation of state law.

Jane George, Veronica George and Angela Rankins filed a complaint on April 4 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging their fingerprints were scanned and stored every time they clocked in for work. The plaintiffs hold the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to inform them why their biometric information was being collected and for how long they intended to keep said information.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek statutory damages of $5,000, statutory damages of $1,000, injunctive and other equitable relief, court costs, interest and any further relief this court grants. They are represented by Ryan F. Stephan, James B. Zouras and Andrew C. Ficzko of Stephan Zouras LLP in Chicago.
