CHICAGO — A woman is suing a health care provider for allegedly failing to provide her with a safe treadmill.
Celia Grajeda filed a complaint on April 12 in Cook County Circuit Court against Midwest Orhopaedics at Rush, alleging she suffered injuries while using a treadmill at the defendants' facility on June 3, 2016, in part because of the defendants' alleged failure to directly supervise her.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to set the treadmill at a safe speed, provide her with a gait belt while she was using the treadmill and properly supervise a physical therapist's aid.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment for damages from each of the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by Matthew I. Baker of Brustin & Lundblad in Chicago.
