Providence Marionjoy Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center allegedly failed to prevent diabetic coma

Medical malpractice 03

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Providence Marionjoy Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center for alleged breach of duty and medical negligence.

Karen G. Granat filed a complaint on April 12 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendant failed to monitor her ammonia levels while she was at its facility in 2017. The plaintiff claims she suddenly fell into a diabetic coma because her medical condition allegedly was left untreated.

The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to properly administer, disburse and otherwise provide the required medications and prescriptions that she needed.
