CHICAGO — A patron is suing Petterino's LLC and Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises Inc., claiming the defendants' negligence led to injuries he sustained at their restaurant.

Wayne Cohen filed a complaint on May 29 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Petterino's and Lettuce Entertain You breached their duty to exercise reasonable care and caution in the performance of their employees' work duties, so as not to cause injuries to those persons legally on the premises.

According to the complaint, Cohen was injured on Oct. 20, 2017, when an employee dropped a tray containing hot liquid on him.

As a result, Cohen claims he suffered and will continue to suffer injuries.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in an amount  greater than $50,000, plus reimbursement of his court costs. He is represented by Michael A. Hume of Cary J. Wintroub & Associates in Chicago.
