Villa at South Holland accused of improper care by former facility resident

CHICAGO — A former resident at a facility operated by The Villa at South Holland LLC filed a lawsuit against the company May 31, citing alleged negligence and violation of the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act.

Pamela Ruffin filed a complaint in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the facility breached the professional standard of care and treatment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was admitted to The Villa at South Holland's facility on March 11, 2016, and later developed severe pressure ulcers, sustained injuries of a personal and financial nature and suffered extreme pain and suffering as a result of the negligent care and treatment by the company and other defendants. 

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus costs and attorney's fees. She is represented by Molly L. Condon of Hurley McKenna & Mertz PC in Chicago.
