CHICAGO — An estate representative is suing vehicle owner and operator Lanphear Tool Works Inc. and John Lanphear, claiming the defendants' negligence resulted in fatal injuries.
Ashpk Badhwar, as personal representative of the estate of the late Sneh Lata Badhwar, filed a complaint June 4 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging Sneh Badhwar was allegedly struck and killed on Oct. 25, 2017, when walking near an intersection by a Lanphear Tool Works vehicle being driven by John Lanphear.
The plaintiff alleges that Lanphear failed to obey traffic signals, failed to keep a proper lookout and failed to react in an appropriate manner to avoid hitting the pedestrian.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment on behalf of the deceased in an amount necessary to fully and fairly compensate the estate for all losses compensable under the terms of the Survival Act. He is represented by Tiffannie M. Kennedy of Levinson and Stefani in Chicago.
