Patient blames Presence Saint Francis Hospital for neurological injury

Medical malpractice 06

CHICAGO — A patient is suing Presence Saint Francis Hospital and other medical professionals for negligence following an alleged neurological injury that occurred during surgery.

Grace Odibo filed a complaint June 4 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging she sustained an injury June 2, 2016, as a result of the negligence of the defendants during a surgical procedure.

The plaintiff claimed Presence Saint Francis and the other defendants are responsible because they allegedly failed to take proper precautions to protect her nerves from injury, failed to notice on time that the plaintiff sustained a neurological injury and failed to properly monitor the plaintiff's neurological condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment greater than $50,000. She is represented by John J. MacInerney of Hofeld and Schaffner in Chicago.
