Estate administrator blames Sacred Heart doctors for woman's death

Medical malpractice 04

CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing doctors Rajiv Kandala, Venkata Buddharaju, Merlin Kelsick and Vijay Pallekonda, citing alleged negligence and wrongful death.

Reginald Robinson filed a complaint June 11 in Cook County Circuit Court on behalf of the late Katherine Robinson, alleging the defendants breached the professional standard of care and treatment because they allegedly allowed the deceased to undergo unnecessary and risky medical procedures and failed to inform her of the risks involved with the procedures.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 5, 2013, Katherine Robinson was subjected to pain and suffering, incurred significant medical expenses and suffered injuries that at least partially led to her death as a result of the alleged negligence of the defendants in providing proper care, treatment and surgical procedures.

In addition, Reginald Robinson said he and Katherine Robinson's other next of kin have suffered the loss of her love, affection, society and companionship.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment against defendants greater than $50,000, plus court costs and further relief as the court deems just. He is represented by attorney Michael Greco, in Chicago.
