Former employee claims Joseph Rehabilitation fired her for water report

Wrongful term 06

CHICAGO — A former employee is suing Joseph Rehabilitation Center LLC, Adetutu Balogun and Joseph Balogun for retaliation and wrongful termination.

Kelly McNulty filed a complaint June 12 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants breached their duty of good faith and fair dealing.

According to the complaint, McNulty was fired on July 31, 2015, and has lost wages and future benefits and suffered extreme mental distress as a result of the alleged wrongful conduct of the defendants in fabricating charges against her and terminating her employment in retaliation for her reporting to the Office of the Inspector General that the water temperature in the facility was too high.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment greater than $50,000, plus punitive damages, attorney's fees and costs of the suit. She is represented by Michael Marsh of Mayer & Marsh in Chicago.
