Princeton Rehab & HCC, The Alden Group blamed in wrongful death suit

Medical malpractice 07

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Princeton Rehab & HCC, The Alden Group Ltd. and Alden Management Services Inc.,, citing alleged negligence.

Darlene Watson, administrator of the estate of the late Leon Mallory, filed a complaint June 19 in Cook County Circuit Court, alleging the defendants violated the Nursing Home Care Act and the Survival Act.

According to the complaint, Leon Mallory was a patient at Princeton Rehab & HCC between 2004 and Feb. 1, 2018.

As a result of the defendants' alleged negligence, the suit says Mallory was injured, disabled and disfigured and his existing health conditions deteriorated, ultimately leading to his death.

Watson claims the defendants are responsible because they allegedly were under a statutory obligation to provide adequate supervision to prevent the development of Mallory’s pressure ulcers and an infection of his right leg where a prior amputation had been performed.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief greater than $50,000. She is represented by Kelly Sabo Gaden of The Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates PC in Chicago.
