Architect says Chicago Shakespeare Theater did not pay for elevator services

Contract 03

CHICAGO — An architectural firm is suing Chicago Shakespeare Theater and Criss Henderson, citing alleged breach of contract and fraud.

Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture LLP filed a complaint June 18 in Cook County Circuit Court.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff allegedly suffered substantial economic loss as a result of the unlawful conduct of the defendants in refusing to settle amounts payable for services rendered to an elevator system and additional upgrades.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment against defendants for an amount greater than $75,000, plus attorneys' fees, punitive damages, lawsuit costs and further relief as the court deems just. It is represented by Douglas Palandech and Eric Shukis of Foran Glennon Palandech Ponzi & Rudloff PC in Chicago.
